Printing @ Magdalene
Every student is allocated $4.00 of virtual print credit per year to use at school.
Unused credit will roll over into the following year. Additional credit can be purchased from the Office.
PRINTING IS VERY SIMPLE ESPECIALLY AFTER YOUR FIRST SUCCESSFUL PRINT JOB
Printing Instructions Part 1: Check that you have the correct printers installed.
Step 1: Check that printers have been installed; click on the printer icon
And select View My Printers
Step 2. You will be prompted to sign in order to check your printer.
College username and password.
Step 3. If three printer are shown as INSTALLED continue to the next step.
if NOT wait until the printers have installed.
Part 2: How to Print: If your print job worked you will receive an email.
Step 1: It is best to print online Docs as a pdf
Open the document that you would like to print.
If it's not already a pdf eg. a Google Doc download a copy as a pdf.
> Go to the “File" menu and download pdf document.
Step 2: Open the pdf file.
You will find the pdf file in your downloads folder, it will open with the "Preview App"
> Go to the “File" menu and select PRINT. (bottom of list)
Step 3: Select the printer that you would like to use and click PRINT.
Library or TAS (both are colour)
TAS is A4 only, Library is A4 and A3
Step 4: Check the progress of the printing.
Open the printer - click on the printer ICON in your Doc.
Step 5: IMPORTANT: The first time you print or if an error occurs, you need to authenticate your account.
(username and password)
In your doc, you will see the printer bouncing with an error icon.
Double click and open the print window and click the resume icon.
Step 6: CLICK ON THE RESUME ICON. If your job is on HOLD, click the resume icon.
Step 7: Enter your school user name as shown below:
Name: student\SmithJ01 The back slash is undeer the delete key \
Password: Mccn3853 Use the password that was issued to youby the College
Step 8: Check your email - If the job printed sucessfully you will receive an email to release the job from the printer.
The email will come from paperCut as shown.
Step 9: Close your laptop and go to the printer to relese your print job.
YOU CAN PRINT FROM CLASS AND THE JUST GO TO THE LIBRARY OR TAS BLOCK TO COLLECT YOUR PRINT JOB.
IF YOY RECEIVED THE EMAIL THE PRINT JOB WORKED.
Part 3: Releasing your Print Job
Step 1: If you received an email go to the printer and enter your credentials.
Printer Screen - Enter your Username and password.
Step 2: Once you have signed in you will see your Print Jobs on a list.
Click PRINT ALL or individually select the documents that you want to print.
